MLS salaries released, showing Kaka nets MLS-record $7.1 million

Kaka

Kaka, the marquee signing by expansion club Orlando City SC, will make a record $6.6 million in annual value and $7.1 million in guaranteed compensation, the highest ever in MLS.

At 32 years old, Kaka will be the flagship player to lead OCSC into MLS, and he is compensated generously for that notion. He is making $400,000 more than anyone in MLS, with Clint Dempsey the second-highest earner.

Kaka is currently on loan at Brazilian club São Paolo FC, where he’s played 12 matches and scored one goal, along with a second in the Copa Sudamericana. He is only completing 80% of his passes, according to WhoScored.com.

São Paulo is the same club he began his professional career at in 2001, making 53 appearances for them and scoring 23 goals before moving to AC Milan and launching himself as a worldwide soccer sensation.
