MLS top scorers over last two years … some surprises

Alan Gordon 5

It’s a “usual suspects” kind of thing near the top as we look at the top MLS scorers over the last two years. (That is, over the complete 2012 season and the first two months of 2013.)

You’ve got your Wondos and Henrys, for sure.

But look who has crept into the Top 10, guys like Will Bruin and Jack McInerney. Mike Magee, based on his strong start, finds himself among the Top 15.

Here’s the list:

  • 1. Chris Wondolowski, San Jose 32 goals in 43 games
  • 2. Thierry Henry, NY Red Bulls 20 in 36
  • 3. Alvaro Saborio, Real Salt Lake 20 in 37
  • 4. Kenny Cooper, FC Dallas 20 in 43
  • 5. Robbie Keane, LA Galaxy 17 in 31
  • 6. Eddie Johnson, Seattle 16 in 33
  • 7. Will Bruin, Houston 16 in 41
  • 8. Alan Gordon, San Jose 15 in 26
  • 9. Jack McInerney, Philadelphia 14 in 34
