Mohamed Salah lands at Trabzonspor as Liverpool’s Egyptian King finds new home

Mohamed Salah will not be coming to MLS or heading to the Saudi Pro League, as Liverpool’s Egyptian King is off to Turkiye.

Salah, 34, is going to sign for Trabzonspor and is finalizing a medical ahead of a contract with the Turkish side.

Liverpool and Salah agreed to part ways late last season, ending a legendary partnership that saw the Egyptian score 257 goals and add 113 assists in 442 appearances, winning two Premier Leagues and a Champions League.

Salah has 119 caps for Egypt and had a goal and two assists at the World Cup as the Pharoahs reached the Round of 16 before losing a 2-0 lead to Argentina from the 79th minute of a 3-2 exit.

Trabzonspor finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season and won the Turkish Cup. The club is led by ex-Southampton striker Paul Onuachu, Ukraine star Ruslan Malinovskyi, and Albanian national teamer Ernest Muci.

Salah and his new team will compete in Europa League qualification beginning August 20 when they meet Ferencvaros or Gornik Zabrze in the playoff round.
