Now it’s official: Toronto has matched the worst start ever in Major League Soccer.
TFC’s 0-7 start has equaled Kansas City’s 1999 March and April woe as the worst launch to begin a campaign. And it really must be heartbreaking for the Reds, because Aron Winter’s men came oh-so-close to collecting their first points of 2012.
They were all tied up in stoppage time against Real Salt Lake, and a draw in Utah would be a very worthy result.
But watch the good work of Javier Morales on the wing. Then watch Kyle Beckerman’s smart layoff. And finally, watch the goal from Johnny Steele, who did something along the same lines last month when RSL won at Portland. Then, as Saturday, Steele scored the game-winner in the waning minutes in a 3-2 triumph.
Watch Steele’s game-winner from Saturday.
