New York Red Bulls manager Hans Backe has made his feelings known about the bad-and-getting-worse conditions at Red Bull Arena.

He’s not happy MLS officials are even considering trying to get this match in tonight. What he just told NBC’s Kyle Martino:

It’s an easy decision, it should be postponed. I mean, it’s a conference semifinal. You can’t see the lines, you risk players, picking up groins, hamstring (injuries) with these conditions. The pitch is not heated, the snow is getting worse and worse. For me, it is an easy decision, because this is not football. This is another sport.

Kickoff was set for just after 8 p.m.; as of 8:45 p.m. ET, officials on scene at Red Bull Arena continue efforts to clear the field, hoping to play the Red Bulls-D.C. United Eastern Conference semifinal second leg.
