Sepp Blatter’s daughter speaks, says FIFA head is victim of a conspiracy

CorinneBlatter

Amid her father’s attempts to damage control during FIFA’s recent indictments, Corinne Blatter has spoken out about her father’s position atop the FIFA structure.

Speaking to the BBC, Corinne said that, “Nobody is without fault but (...) he [Sepp] is not the person who is taking money.”

With the U.S. Department of Justice cracking down on the governing body with sweeping indictments and more expected to come, Corinne said she doesn’t know if it’s the United States who is conspiring against her father, but thinks someone is. “I wouldn’t say from the Americans and the British, but certainly people working behind the scenes, yes absolutely,” she said.

“I don’t know if you want to call them dark forces but I mean they really tried hard, they tried in September, October last year. How can UEFA who is saying ‘we are the strongest confederation’, how can they not put up a candidate?”

UEFA did back a candidate, getting behind Jordan’s Prince Ali bin Hussein following the withdrawal of European candidates Luis Figo and Michael van Praag.

Corinne believes that people hit out at her father to dethrone him, but that it will all blow over in time. “All these things happened just to discredit him so that he would resign,” she said. “But I can tell you in about [two or three] weeks no one will talk about it anymore.”

“Other news will be top and he’ll work normally, as he said yesterday at the press conference he had a great executive meeting and everyone is going to work together. He’s also the president of those who didn’t vote for him and they have to work together now.”
