If one man has battled Premier League demons and come out victorious, it’s Daniel Sturridge.

The England striker began his Premier League career at Manchester City and after letting his contract run out in June 2009, continued on at Chelsea where he joined the likes of Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Nicolas Anelka.

That trio made it difficult for Sturridge to get a game in his preferred position, striker. His frustrations compelled him to move on to Liverpool, who came calling last January.

Since his move to Anfield, Sturridge has not only been afforded the opportunity to play striker but he’s blossomed as a player. This season, he and Luis Suarez form the Premier League’s best strike-force, with 18 goals between the two.

In his exclusive interview with NBC’s Arlo White, Sturridge talks about his journey to the top.

“I feel more at home now,” Sturridge said. “I feel like I can go out on the football field and express myself.

“And in the past I’ve had -- you get an opportunity for maybe 15 or 20 minutes, whatever it may be, and you have one start out of 10 games or something like that and it’s very difficult to kind of express yourself because you feel like in that one moment or that one game of 15 minutes that you’ve got to show everybody what you can do.”
