According to the Oakland Tribune’s Jerry McDonald, “there’s no way the Raiders aren’t intrigued” with supplemental draft prospect Terrelle Pryor.
McDonald has previously characterized Pryor as “A classic Al Davis pick.” He now sets “50-50" odds on Pryor going to the Raiders, with the only sticking point being the team’s lack of 2012 second- and fourth-round picks. We suspect Pryor will be available in the fifth round, however, and Davis could certainly take him there. No supplemental draft date has been set as of yet.

The Raiders reportedly have supplemental draft prospect Terrelle Pryor graded high “in just about every category except as quarterback.”
They view Pryor as possessing “outstanding athletic talent,” which is hardly a surprise after he clocked a 4.38 forty at 6'5" and 232 pounds. Owner Al Davis may draft Pryor with the intention of developing him as a Jermichael Finley-type mismatch at tight end. Pryor was reportedly in Pittsburgh Sunday visiting the Steelers.

Former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor has been declared eligible for the NFL’s supplemental draft, but will be ineligible to play in the first five games after he signs.
The supplemental draft will take place on Monday, giving Pryor’s camp little time to set up a “Pro Day.” National Scouting service put a sixth- or seventh-round grade on Pryor, and we’d be surprised if any team used more than a fifth-round pick on him. Teams such as the Dolphins, Browns and Raiders have been suggested as possible landing spots in a developmental quarterback role.

Bay Area Newsgroup’s Jerry McDonald considers former Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor a “classic Al Davis [draft] pick.”
Former Bears safety Doug Plank, a volunteer assistant with Ohio State last season, insists Pryor was the fastest player on the Buckeyes roster. Pryor will want to start his career as a QB, but he’ll likely be more open to a move to tight end down the line. For what it will cost to grab Pryor in the supplemental draft (fourth- or fifth-rounder?), Davis may find the explosive athleticism too tempting to pass up.
  • FA Quarterback
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent Josh Freeman has been contacted by “at least” ten teams and the Raiders are the most likely landing spot.
Freeman has a connection with Raiders OC Greg Olson; he was the offensive coordinator in Tampa Bay when the Bucs drafted Freeman. The Raiders would reportedly start Freeman over Terrelle Pryor if they signed him. The 49ers have also been in contact with Freeman. They’re clearly not comfortable with Colt McCoy as Colin Kaepernick’s backup. Freeman could make a decision by Sunday night.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Seahawks acquired QB Terrelle Pryor from the Raiders for a seventh-round draft pick.
The 49ers were also trying to acquire Pryor. GM Reggie McKenzie did well to get something after acknowledging Pryor wasn’t going to be on the team. With Pryor under contract for a meager $705,000 in 2014, he wasn’t going to make it to Seattle on waivers, so they had to trade for him if they wanted him. If Pryor is going to stick in Seattle, he’s going to have to be kept as the No. 3 quarterback. Tarvaris Jackson is locked in as Russell Wilson’s top backup on a fully guaranteed deal. Pryor will compete with B.J. Daniels for No. 3 duties.
  • ARI Quarterback #3
Terrelle Pryor will see an increased role in Week 16, taking over on some third downs and red-zone plays.
The Raiders want to “create a different look for the defense to contend with” and “try to use some of his athletic ability.” Pryor played just one series last week, handing off twice and throwing an incomplete pass. His increased, if uncertain, playing time leaves Carson Palmer as unstartable outside of two-quarterback fantasy leagues.
  • LAC Quarterback
Raiders coach Hue Jackson hinted on his radio show Friday that he may use more than one quarterback in Week 7 against the Chiefs.
The Raiders could start Kyle Boller, but give Carson Palmer snaps as a means of “easing in” their new franchise quarterback. It’s interesting to note that Jackson also gave Terrelle Pryor first-team practice reps throughout the week, perhaps an indication that the rookie could be mixed in as a package player. Clearly, it’s a situation to stay away from in all fantasy leagues.
  • FA Quarterback
Beat writer Steve Corkran says the play of the Raiders quarterbacks at Tuesday’s minicamp was the worst he’s seen in 19 years covering the NFL.
It’s only one non-padded practice, but there’s reason for concern when your quarterback stable is Matt Flynn, Tyler Wilson, Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin. “Time and again, balls were batted at the line of scrimmage, thrown behind receivers, thrown over receivers, delivered too high or just plain off the mark,” Corkran observed. Las Vegas has set the Raiders’ win total at 5.5, tied second-worst in the league behind the Jaguars. It’s going to be ugly.
  • FA Quarterback
Coach Dennis Allen reiterated that the starting quarterback job is Matt Flynn’s to lose.
Flynn is getting the majority of reps with the starters during OTAs. “Matt’s our starting quarterback as we go forward right now,” Allen said, “and until the competition dictates otherwise, that’s where we’re going.” Flynn will have to faceplant in order to lose the job to fourth-round rookie Tyler Wilson. We suspect that faceplant won’t come until sometime during the season.
