Luisa Geiselsoder (shoulder) will not return to Wednesday’s game against the Sun.
Geiselsoder finished the third quarter of Wednesday’s game but was replaced by Aziaha James to begin the fourth quarter before later being ruled out. Her injury is just the latest in what has been a rough past few weeks for the Wings, who were already playing on Wednesday without Paige Bueckers (illness), Arike Ogunbowale (knee), JJ Quinerly (knee) and Li Yueru Knee). With Dallas’ season coming to an end soon, it’ll be interesting to see what the injury diagnosis is and how long it potentially keeps Geiselsoder on the sideline, if at all.
  • Arike Ogunbowale has been diagnosed with tendinitis in her right knee and will remain out.
The Wings have not provided a return timeline for Ogunbowale, so she should be considered out indefinitely until her status is updated. The veteran guard’s absence means the offense will continue to run exclusively through Paige Bueckers, the favorite to win Rookie of the Year honors. With the Wings boasting a 9-26 record ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Sparks, it’s possible that Ogunbowale will not play again this season. Haley Jones has been in the starting lineup with Ogunbowale sidelined, and Maddy Siegrist will also continue to have a more critical role within the rotation.
  • Arike Ogunbowale (knee) is out for Friday’s game against the Sparks.
Friday’s game will be the second Ogubowale has missed due to a right knee injury. Maddy Siegrist started Tuesday’s win over the Wings and had her most productive outing of the season, tallying 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting. She should hold onto that starting role until Ogunbowale returns, and Siegrist is worth rostering in fantasy leagues.
  • Maddy Siegrist, Haley Jones, Luisa Geiselsöder, Grace Berger and Paige Bueckers will start against the Fever on Tuesday.
With Arike Ogunbowale unavailable on Tuesday night due to right knee soreness, head coach Chris Koclanes decided to play a bit bigger and added forward Maddy Siegirst to the starting lineup. Tuesday’s game will be Siegrist’s fourth start this WNBA season and first since she returned from injury a week ago. With Siegrist starting, expect Myisha Hines-Allen to get substantial run coming off the bench in addition to new acquisition Dimond Miller. If Luisa Geiselsöder gets into early foul trouble guarding Aliyah Boston, Li Yueru should see some extended minutes as well.
  • Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale (right knee soreness) has been ruled out for Tuesday night’s game against the Fever.
After Ogunbowale was deemed questionable on Monday, she didn’t participate during the open portion of shoot around for media members. Ogunbowale was spotted on a stationary bike while the team prepared on the court. With Ogunbowale out on Tuesday night, the Wings could go small and add either rookie guards Aziaha James or JJ Quinerly in Ogunbowale’s place. If the Wings go a bit bigger, expect forward Maddy Siegrist to join the starting lineup.
  • Arike Ogunbowale amassed 12 points (4-of-10 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), two assists, two steals and one blocked shot in Sunday’s loss to the Mystics.
After averaging 22.2 points per game in 2024, the 2025 season has been underwhelming for Ogunbowale. That isn’t entirely her fault, as the Wings are rebuilding under a first-year head coach in Chris Koclanes. However, fantasy managers were hoping for more from Ogunbowale because of her raw scoring ability. Her average of 15.6 points per game entering Sunday was a career low and will drop further after Sunday’s effort. Add in the limited production in other categories, and this has been a disappointing season for those who have Ogunbowale rostered.
  • Arike Ogunbowale broke out in the second half during Friday night’s 88-77 loss to the Liberty accumulating 17 points (6-of-16 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, and three assists in 35 minutes of play.
After struggling in the first half shooting 1-for-7 from the field and scoring just 3 points, Ogunbowale bounced back in the final two frames. She shot 5-for-9 from the field in the second half on a bunch of drives to the basket where she took advantage of how the Liberty were switching on ball screens. She was able to out run Leonie Fiebich and Emma Meesseman, two talented switchable defenders who were a hair bit too slow to keep up with Ogunbowale’s drives. She made just one jump shot, a 10-foot step back shot, where she was able to shoot over Stephanie Talbot in transition. She also had six rebounds on Friday night, a new season high.
  • Arike Ogunbowale finished Friday’s loss to the Fever with eight points (1-of-6 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), one rebound, five assists and two steals.
For the second straight time against the Fever, Ogunbowale struggled greatly on the offensive end. After a two-point, 0-of-10 shooting performance in the previous matchup, Ogunbowale made just one shot in Friday’s contest and failed to score in double figures for the eighth time this season. She ultimately finished as Dallas’ leader in assists, but her lack of scoring didn’t help the Wings or fantasy managers. Dallas would benefit from Ogunbowale being more productive as a scorer, which she had been for the first several games after the All-Star Break. She’ll look to bounce back on Tuesday against New York.
  • Arike Ogunbowale tallied 12 points (5-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, two assists and one steal in Wednesday’s loss to the Dream.
Ogunbowale failed to build off of her 20-point, 14-assist performance in Monday’s win over the Liberty. Instead, she struggled with her shooting on Wednesday and found just a couple of assists before the sound of the final horn. The veteran guard had put together four very productive games before the loss to Atlanta. Fantasy managers hope that she regains her touch quickly and lands another strong outing against the Fever on Friday.
  • Arike Ogunbowale finished Monday’s win over the Liberty with 20 points (7-of-15 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), one rebound, 14 assists, one steal and two three-pointers.
Ogunbowale’s productive play following the All-Star Break continued as the Wings ended their two-game losing streak on Monday against the Liberty. Dallas built a 27-point halftime lead thanks in large part to the contributions of Ogunbowale, who logged 15 points and 10 assists through the first two quarters. Her production slowed a bit in the second half, but she still found success, ultimately reaching the 20-point mark and registering a season-high in assists for her first double-double of the season. She’ll have a chance to put together another strong performance on Wednesday against the Dream.
