    Nationals released 1B/OF Yasmany Tomás.
Tomás appeared in just 26 games with Triple-A Rochester due to injury, slashing .185/.292/.370 with three home runs across 96 plate appearances, after inking a minor-league deal with the Nationals back in April. The 30-year-old failed to live up to lofty expectations with the Diamondbacks, making his last big-league appearance back in 2019.

    Nationals released OF Yasmany Tomas.
Tomas was in Nationals’ camp as a non-roster invitee on a minor-league deal. He’s appeared in just three major-league games since 2017.

Nationals signed OF Yasmany Tomas to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Once a high-profile signing for the Diamondbacks, Tomas has appeared in just three major league games since 2017 and wasn’t even included in Arizona’s 60-man player pool this past summer. The 30-year-old is set to play in the Puerto Rico Winter League as he gears up for spring training with his new club.

Yasmany Tomas was not included in the Diamondbacks’ announcement of their 60-man Summer Camp roster on Monday.
Tomas was outrighted off the team’s 40-man roster last August. The NL is adding the designated hitter for this season, but the Diamondbacks obviously don’t see him as an option there. The 29-year-old has seen just six appearances at the major league level since 2017.

Diamondbacks sent OF Yasmany Tomas outright to Triple-A Reno.
It’s the second time he’s been outrighted off the 40-man roster. Tomas could have elected free agency and still collected his full salary, but he’s decided to remain in the organization.

Diamondbacks optioned OF Yasmany Tomas to Triple-A Reno.
Tomas’ latest big-league stint lasted all of four games. He received just one start in that span, going hitless with three strikeouts in six at-bats against the Marlins and Yankees. Comically, the 28-year-old became Arizona’s highest-paid player Wednesday following Zack Greinke’s trade to Houston.

Diamondbacks purchased the contract of INF/OF Yasmany Tomas from Triple-A Reno.
Tomas has batted .305/.341/.603 with 29 homers for Reno this season. The 28-year-old hasn’t played in the majors since 2017 and it’s unclear how much he’ll initially play this time around. However, at-bats could be freed up for Tomas if the D-backs sell off some parts at the deadline, and if that happens he’d be worth a look in deep leagues.

Yasmany Tomas will be recalled from Triple-A Reno ahead of Friday’s game against the Marlins.
The 28-year-old earned his promotion by hitting .305 with 29 homers and 80 RBI over 390 at-bats in Triple-A. Tomas hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2017, when he hit .241 with eight homers, 32 RBI and 50 strikeouts over 166 at-bats for the D’Backs. He’s mostly been a bust since joining Arizona on a six-year, $68.5 million contract in 2014, though Tomas did show promise at one point, clubbing 31 homers in his breakout 2016. It’s anyone’s guess how he’ll fare upon his return, though hopefully his time away from the limelight did him some good.

Yasmany Tomas went 5-for-5 with four homers and eight RBI for Triple-A Reno on Monday.
Tomas saw four pitches on Monday, and all four of them went over the fence. He now has 13 homers on the season, and he’s slashing .311/.341/.598 in 42 games. Let’s keep in mind that this four-homer game came in a contest that saw 33 runs -- 25 of them by Reno -- and the ball jumps out of PCL parks. It’s also worth remembering that Tomas was a 30-homer player just two seasons ago. It probably won’t come in Arizona, but he could be on an MLB roster if someone can figure out the (disastrous) financial aspects.
