Tennessee’s lead blocker since 2006, Hall has been steadily regressing. He was suspended for the first four games of 2011, and suffered a Week 17 concussion. Collin Mooney and Quinn Johnson will compete to be Chris Johnson’s lead blocker.

Hall is 31 years old, and his lead blocking has fallen off significantly with age. He could be in the mix to compete for a job if signed by the Dolphins.

Hall missed the season’s first four games due to suspension and sustained another concussion in Week 17. The Titans may want to upgrade the lead-blocker position after Chris Johnson averaged a career-low 3.99 yards per carry.

It’s a concern for Hall because he has an extensive concussion history. The impending free agent won’t consider retirement, however. “This is not the first concussion I’ve had, but I want to continue to play,” said Hall.

Hall missed the first month for violating the NFL’s policy on PEDs, which he blamed on an over-the-counter stimulant taken to stay awake on a long drive. Hall didn’t exactly set the world on fire last season, but replacement Quinn Johnson has graded out as the league’s worst lead blocker through four games, according to Pro Football Focus. Hall’s return could add another boost to a Titans running game that finally appears to be turning a corner.

Hall, an unsung hero for Tennessee’s rushing attack, underwent surgery and will be out at least a month. Casey Cramer is behind him on the depth chart.

Hall, who missed the previous five games, should provide a boost to Lendale White and a struggling running attack. Despite having the burly White and the mobile Vince Young, the Titans have only converted one of their last six third-and-one chances.

Hall suffered a broken arm in Week 7, and hasn’t played since. Coach Jeff Fisher said not to expect him to play in Week 12, but his return will bode well for the Tennessee running attack.
