Haynesworth

The Titans do expect to have Haynesworth available for Friday’s preseason finale.

It doesn’t appear to be serious.

He’s an early candidate for defensive player of the week. Hayneworth has really stepped up as a force at defensive tackle in his third season.

“I saw some disturbing stuff on the field today,” Haynesworth said. “I saw a guy, a key to the offense, over here laughing and playing. I’m like, ‘Man, what is going on?’ … It’s like he didn’t care.” Interesting comments from a player that skipped summer workouts and showed up to camp 25 pounds overweight this year.

Coach Jeff Fisher said the elbow was “displaced,” and could miss more time depending on test results.

The Titans could really use the run stopper versus the Colts this Sunday.

That’s four key defenders out for the Titans. Randy Starks will start at DT. Rocky Calmus will start.

Haynesworth fears he’ll be released this offseason, but we find that highly unlikely. He’s one of their best defensive players and doesn’t cost much.

The third-year pro needs to take a big step forward this season. The Titans are worried. “You’re going to put on weight because you travel a lot and don’t get to work out as much, you eat whatever you want. But that ain’t nothing. I’ll be ready.”

The third-year player has been battling against coach Jeff Fisher since he was suspended for a game late last season. It’s not a battle he’ll win.
