The Auburn Tigers play their third game vs. an American Athletic Conference opponent this season when they face the Central Florida Knights this evening in Auburn. Odds via PointsBet.
UCF vs. Auburn (-10) Total: 140
The Auburn Tigers are 5-1 on the Money Line and 4-2 ATS on the young season. The 21st ranked Tigers have a reason to be excited about this season. Freshman forward Jabari Smith is one of the top players in the country. He is averaging 16 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting 43% from distance; Smith is the kind of player that can carry a team.
Auburn’s one loss of the season came last week vs. UCONN. They lost in double OT, in the Bahamas, in one of the best games of the season thus far. Auburn’s only other ATS loss of the season came against another team from the AAC in South Florida. Auburn lost straight up as a 13.5 point favorite. The Tigers are 0-2 ATS vs. the AAC on the season.
Central Florida travels to Auburn tonight after losing at home to the Oklahoma Sooners to end last week. That’s the Knights only Money Line loss despite being 2-3 ATS on the season. Under Head Coach Johnny Dawkins, the Knights are 5-1 ATS vs. Southeastern Conference opponents.
PointsBet opened this game up with Auburn as a -9.5 favorite. That number got as high as 10.5 before coming back down to 10 at most shops. I don’t believe Auburn is 10 points better than UCF. Auburn’s two ATS losses this season have been at the hands of AAC teams. PointsBet is reporting Over 60% of the bets in this game favor the Tigers while 70% of the handle is on the Knights. I like the sharp money side tonight.
