ARCADIA, Calif. -- Hot Sean won the $53,000 feature by 1 1/4 lengths Thursday at Santa Anita for trainer Bob Baffert.

Ridden by Martin Pedroza, Hot Sean ran a mile in 1:38.48 and paid $3, $2.40 and $2.10 as the 1-2 favorite.

Secret House returned $3.80 and $3, while Tell Me a Story was another three-quarters of a length back in third and paid $2.40 to show.

The victory, worth $31,800, increased Hot Sean’s career earnings to $75,000, with two victories and a second in three starts.

The 2-year-old colt is named for Sean Miller, head basketball coach at Arizona, which is Baffert’s alma mater.
