Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs Preview:
The 9-5 Houston Texans have clinched the AFC South with a loss to the Indianapolis Colts and a win over the Miami Dolphins. While it wasn’t the Texans’ best game, they should have a good feeling about this team’s future. They won the division for a second straight year, and this year, they did it while battling a lot of adversity.
DeMeco Ryans became the first head coach in Texans history to lead the team to the playoffs in his first two seasons. The only thing the Texans can do in the regular season is to determine which seed they will get. That mission starts on Saturday.
They travel to Kansas City this weekend to take on the 13-1 Chiefs. However, the zeal for this match might have lost some of its shine when superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes went down at the end of their last game. He will likely be out for this game and might possibly miss more time.
Super Bowl Champion Carson Wentz will be under center for the Chiefs if Mahomes cannot go. Wentz started one game for the Los Angeles Rams last season. The Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers, while Wentz went 17-of-24 for 163 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.
This weekend will be his first start since that game.
