    Redskins released WR Brian Quick.
Quick has managed to carve out a role as a special teamer after failing to live up to his lofty draft status as the No. 33 overall pick in the 2102 draft by the Rams. Quick was just never the same after tearing up his shoulder with St. Louis.

    Redskins re-signed WR Brian Quick.
Quick spent 2018 on the fringes of the Redskins’ 53-man roster. He is veteran depth for a shockingly thin receiver corps.

Appalachian State WR Brian Quick ran as fast as a 4.51 at the school’s Monday Pro Day.
Quick was timed in the same range by stopwatches at the Combine. The 6'4/220 pound former basketball recruit has an engulfing wingspan (81") and uses it effectively in traffic while high-pointing balls. Quick struggled with drops during Senior Bowl week but is steadily becoming more coordinated in his routes and catch consistency. Teams view Quick as a vertical threat with upside and we doubt he makes it out of the top-75 picks.

Rams selected Appalachian State WR Brian Quick with the No. 33 overall pick in the 2012 draft.
It was perhaps more logical to expect the Rams to use this pick on a big-name receiver like Rueben Randle or Alshon Jeffery, but their scouting department was higher on the small-school product. A 6-foot-4, 220-pound former high school basketball standout, Quick has a massive catch radius with 34 1/4-inch arms, and averaged 16.9 yards per reception in his college career. With a first-round grade from the organization, Quick should be ticketed for the starting lineup as a rookie. He is a vicious crack-back blocker, which will come in handy in new coach Jeff Fisher’s run-first offense.

Rams WRs coach Ray Sherman sees a “lot of similarities” between No. 33 pick WR Brian Quick and Terrell Owens.
“The way the kid goes and gets the ball, the physicality, the desire ... he has a chance to be special, no doubt,” Sherman said. Quick has T.O. size at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, and is also an excellent blocker. He has a strong chance to immediately step in as a starter in the Rams’ mess of a receiver corps.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch believes that rookies Brian Quick and Chris Givens are the favorites to start at wide receiver for the Rams in 2012.
Quick, a second-round pick, stands 6'4/220 and figures to work as the “X” receiver, or split end, so that he can use his size to beat press coverage. Givens, a fourth-rounder, would handle flanker duties. He has sub-4.4 speed and will provide Sam Bradford with a vertical threat. Danny Amendola is expected to handle slot work.

Coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that the Rams anticipate No. 33 pick Brian Quick contributing immediately as a rookie.
“We expect him to play and be a big part of our offense,” Fisher said. “We don’t think about it any other way. ... We wouldn’t have taken him at the spot where we took him were we not convinced that he was one of those guys that could learn fast and help us very early in the season.” Quick has been the early talk of Rams rookie minicamp for his dynamic movement skills at 6-foot-4, 220.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Rams are “insanely excited” about No. 33 pick WR Brian Quick.
Rapoport spent Friday at the Rams’ rookie minicamp, and says Quick "(moved) like a small guy” despite appearing bigger than his 6-foot-4, 220-pound frame. According to Rapoport, Quick turned in a drop-free afternoon. A favorite of NFL Films’ Greg Cosell and expected to be the Rams’ No. 1 receiver from jump street, Quick is quickly shaping up as one of 2012’s buzz rookies.

Two NFL scouts expressed concern about Appalachian State WR Brian Quick’s ability to make an early impact in the pros.
As has NFL Network’s Mike Mayock, calling Quick a candidate to be “overwhelmed.” Said one scout, “Somebody will overpay for him because he’s big, fast, athletic. But receiver is a hard position to come into the NFL and play initially, and he’s a ways away.” Added another scout of Quick: “He’s a little country simple. Doesn’t really have a real support system that’s used to this kind of limelight. It’s going to be a struggle for him.”

After doing tape study of Rams rookie Brian Quick, NFL Films’ Greg Cosell says Quick has a chance to be the best receiver in the 2012 draft class.
Cosell says Quick and Justin Blackmon ran similar routes in college, and “you can make the argument” that Quick shows more athleticism than Blackmon on tape. “With his size and overall skill set, he has a chance to be the best wide receiver in this draft class,” Cosell wrote of Quick. “I know some teams saw him that way.” Picking Quick at No. 33 was viewed as a “reach” in draftnik circles, but league evaluators saw it much differently.
