TE Michael Higgins was signed to the active roster in a corresponding move. Harris broke his leg in Sunday’s game versus the 49ers. With Zach Strief and Charles Brown also injured, the Saints could be turning to fourth-stringer William Robinson as their Week 13 starter at Atlanta. Harris will have to battle for a roster spot in 2013.

Sent to the locker room for X-rays, Harris is considered doubtful to return. Already without starter Zach Strief and backup Charles Brown, the Saints will now have to turn to newly signed William Robinson at right tackle.

An undrafted rookie out of Fresno State, Harris takes the place of seventh-round rookie Marcel Jones, who lands on IR.

Saints GM Mickey Loomis has been consistently fantastic unearthing productive undrafted free agents, and Harris is one of his most recent gems. The 25-year-old Fresno State alum has shown well in two spot starts the past two seasons while seeing extensive action as a sixth lineman in jumbo packages. Harris will be in the mix to succeed free agent RT Zach Strief in 2014.

Harris was a deep reserve probably lucky to survive until final cuts. The Falcons still aren’t all the way down to 53.

An undrafted free agent out of Fresno State in 2012, Harris started four games across three seasons with the Saints. He should be nothing more than a reserve in Atlanta.

26-year-old Harris has made four starts across three seasons, but is a liability when asked to handle significant snaps. The Saints originally declined to tender him as a restricted free agent. He’ll battle for a roster spot.

They needed another body at tackle after losing Jerald Hawkins to a quad tear. Harris, 29, has made four career starts, although none since 2014.
