Steelers selected Nebraska DL Carlos Davis with the No. 232 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Davis (6’2"/313), twin brother of Khalil Davis, was a three-year starting defensive end and track-and-field star (Discus) at Nebraska. He’s juiced up with 99th percentile athleticism, but it never translated to defensive production in college. The redshirt senior only had 4.0 sacks and 4.5 TFLs in 2019 and was often washed out of the play because he lacked the pass-rushing moves to win one-on-one. Davis will likely get a chance to develop given his burst, but he will be a 24-year-old rookie and best profiles as an end of the roster depth option. The Steelers lost Javon Hargrave in free agency, so perhaps there is a path to sticking on the roster for Davis.
