    Eagles waived QB Carson Strong.

The teams also cut RB Jason Huntley, S Jaquiski Tartt, OL Cameron Tom, and DT Rennell Wren. Philly took a shot on Strong as a UDFA after he didn’t hear his name called in the 2022 NFL Draft. Strong is a capable pocket passer who could develop into a backup with enough time. He should find his way onto a practice squad soon.

Eagles signed Nevada QB Carson Strong.

Strong (6’3/226), who had just one offer coming out of high school, brought the Nevada program to new heights during his time there. Strong was once projected as highly as No. 1 overall ahead of and during the 2021 season, but rumors surrounding the long-term health of his knee have made some wary despite the fact he’s been cleared by a Los Angeles Rams doctor and went through the latter part of the season and all offseason showcases without a knee brace. Though his mobility is limited, Strong may be the best pure passer in this class with a deep ball and overall level of accuracy that’s tough to match. That was reflected in his 2021 stat line as he completed 70% of his passes for 4,186 yards with 36 touchdowns and just eight interceptions on 524 attempts in Nevada’s high-flying Air Raid offense.
