Panthers signed WR Ainias Smith, G Ja’Tyre Carter, G Saahdiq Charles, WR Dan Chisena, RB Montrell Johnson, OLB Jamil Muhammad, LB Maz Mwansa, TE Bryce Pierre, WR Ja’seem Reed, S Demani Richardson, RB Anthony Tyus, LB Jacoby Windmon, LB Jared Bartlett, CB Tyrek Funderburk and G Joshua Gray to reserve/futures deals.
The former fifth-round Eagles wideout did not have any NFL playing time in 2024 after a 7/41/1 debut for the Eagles in 2024. He spent the whole year with the Panthers practice squad and could have a chance to battle with lower-rung receivers like Brycen Tremayne for a roster spot in 2026.

    VanDarius Cowan
    MD #8
West Virginia redshirt junior LB VanDarius Cowan is questionable for Saturday’s game vs. Baylor due to an undisclosed injury.
Cowan (6'4/240) had to depart last weekend’s loss at Oklahoma State due to injury, and he’s managed to be a disruptive force for the Mountaineers. Through two games the redshirt junior, who missed much of last season due to a knee injury, has amassed 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble. Jared Bartlett would get the start at BANDIT if Cowan is unable to play on Saturday.

  • CAR Linebacker
West Virginia received a verbal commitment from three-star 2019 LB Jared Bartlett.
While Bartlett did not actually commit to the Mountaineers until Thursday, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker has been sitting on this one for several weeks. He should be considered a low three-star recruit -- Rivals ranks him as the No. 116 prospect in the state of Georgia for the 2019 cycle -- though it should be noted that he did not even begin playing football until the ninth grade. Still plenty of room for development as he heads into his senior season of high school ball.
