Suspended Red Raider practicing, QB released from hospital

Texas Tech offensive lineman Brandon Carter, suspended for Saturday’s game against New Mexico, returned to practice yesterday, the Lubbock Avalanche Journal is reporting.

While the team would say only that Carter had been suspended for violating team rules, the Avalanche Journal states that the lineman was suspended for, among other things, smashing a helmet.

Teammate and quarterback Taylor Potts, who suffered a concussion in the win, was released from the hospital yesterday.

However, Potts is doubtful for the Kansas State game according to the paper, meaning junior Steven Sheffield could very well make his first collegiate start this weekend.
