Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel) is active for Week 16 against the Falcons.
The Cardinals reportedly plan to “ease” Harrison back into action today. Teams often cast aside snap-count plans if their recently injured star player is feeling good early in their return, but Harrison has not yet established himself as a player who regularly exceeds expectations. The prudent move is to treat WR Michael Wilson as a fantasy football WR2 and view Harrison as a WR4/FLEX. Cardinals WR Xavier Weaver (hamstring) is also active. The Cardinals declared CB Max Melton (heel), CB Elijah Jones, CB Darren Hall (concussion), S Jalen Thompson (hamstring), OL Evan Brown (personal) and LT Paris Johnson Jr. (knee) inactive for Week 16 against the Falcons.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #82
Andre Baccellia caught 1-of-3 targets for three yards in the Cardinals’ Week 14 loss against the Rams.
Baccellia, with Greg Dortch (chest) on injured reserve and Xavier Weaver dealing with an ankle injury, operated as the Cardinals’ WR2 in Week 14. He logged a pass route on 39 of Jacoby Brissett’s 50 drop backs. Weaver would likely take on the WR2 role if he’s able to suit up and Marvin Harrison Jr. remains sidelined in Week 15 against the Texans.
  • ARI Running Back #31
Cardinals RB Emari Demercado (ankle) will not play in Arizona’s Week 14 game against the Rams.
He had gone limited-limited over the first two days of the week, but Demercado popped up with a surprise DNP on Friday and was ruled out. That’s just normal Cardinals backfield stuff these days, as the world has conspired to give Zonovan Knight RB2/FLEX assignments. Arizona also named Xavier Weaver (hamstring) as questionable after he DNP’ed, a move that had Cardinals beat Darren Urban predicting a lot of Trent Sherfield on Sunday. So, you know, there are healthier teams in the league.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #4
Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (chest) did not practice on Thursday.
Dortch is seemingly heading toward an absence for the Cardinals’ Week 14 game against the Rams. The veteran wide receiver was working his way into FLEX territory just a few weeks ago. He does not need to be rostered at this time. Cardinals WR Xavier Weaver (hamstring) was added to the injury report on Thursday.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals declared DB Kei’Trel Clark, TE Travis Vokolek, WR Xavier Weaver, LB Xavier Thomas, LB Owen Pappoe, and LB Victor Dimukeje inactive for Week 7 against the Chargers.
That means rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will officially return after leaving the team’s Week 6 contest with a concussion after just eight offensive snaps. Rookie wide receiver Xavier Weaver, who was active last week and played 41 offensive snaps after Harrison Jr. departed, is inactive.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals WR Xavier Weaver (oblique) is practicing in full for Week 3 against the Lions.
Weaver missed the first two weeks of his rookie season because of the oblique injury. A full session to open the week suggests he is good to go for Week 3. He will open the year as a reserve wideout and a special teamer for Arizona.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals declared WR Xavier Weaver, CB Darren Hall, LB Jesse Luketa, DL Dante Stills, OL Jon Gaines II, and TE Travis Vokolek inactive for Week 2 against the Rams.
The Cardinals enter Week 2 without major game-time decisions for injuries. Weaver will miss the game due to an oblique injury, but the rest of the skill position group will be healthy against the Rams.
  • ARI Cornerback #16
Cardinals listed CB Max Melton (concussion) as questionable for Week 2 against the Rams.
The second-round rookie could provide mild depth for the Cardinals’ lackluster cornerback corps, if active. WR Xavier Weaver (oblique) is also listed as questionable.
  • ARI Wide Receiver
Cardinals signed Colorado WR Xavier Weaver.
The deal includes $255,000 in guarantees, suggesting Worthy has a decent shot of making the team this summer. Weaver (6’0/169) strung together three productive seasons from 2021-2023 to close out his five-year career, and went for 68-908-4 last season – his first and only year at Colorado. Weaver has ideal height for an outside receiver but a very slender frame. He’s an explosive receiver with 4.47 speed and he dominated the vertical and broad jumps at Colorado’s pro day, but Weaver will need to prove he can overcome more physical play from NFL corners with significant size advantages.
  • ARI Wide Receiver #89
South Florida junior WR Xavier Weaver caught five passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in a 29-14 loss to East Carolina on Thursday night.
Weaver (6'1/178) was the most reliable target for Katravis Marsh all night. His touchdown came after a fumbled kickoff to put the Bulls up 14-6. He ran a glance route, gained enough separation, and adjusted well to the ball which was thrown behind him. When the Bulls were down in the second half, they were able to connect on plays of 22 and 33 yards, but they weren’t able to convert those big plays into points. The Bulls take on Houston next Saturday.
