Western Michigan sophomore WR Corey Crooms caught three passes for 73 yards and one touchdown as the Broncos defeated Akron 45-40 on Tuesday night.
Most of Crooms’ (5'11/185) receiving yards came on Western Michigan’s final offensive play of the game, when quarterback Kaleb Eleby found Crooms for a 45-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter to put the Broncos up by the winning score of 45-40. Crooms has been a reliable target for Eleby all season, as he has two games of over 100 receiving yards, and has scored a touchdown in five of his eight games played on the season. Now with a receiving line of 37/609/5, Eleby will look to build on his stats over Western Michigan’s final two games of the season. The Broncos travel to Eastern Michigan to take on the Eagles next Tuesday.
