Young

Young is an undrafted rookie out of Michigan State. With the Cardinals likely to move on from Levi Brown this offseason, they’ll have some holes to fill at the tackle spot.

Young is the first man up in the absence of Levi Brown, though beat writer Kent Somers reports OT D’Anthony Batiste will also see time on the blindside with the first-team offense. It appears veteran Jeremy Bridges won’t get a shot to replace Brown after losing out to rookie Bobbie Massie at right tackle.

Young was actually the first man up at left tackle for the Cardinals last summer when Levi Brown went down for the year with a torn triceps. He was beat out by D’Anthony Batiste, though, which says a lot about his future prospects. Young spent the year on the Browns’ practice squad.

The moves clear roster spots for undrafted free agents. Young got a shot at left tackle in Cardinals’ camp last summer, but couldn’t make it past final cuts. His NFL future is dim.

25-year-old Young didn’t even make it to training camp with the Jets, getting waived following April’s draft. He’ll be a practice dummy in St. Louis.
