Bills OLB Chris Kelsay (calf) is expected to return to his starting job against the Redskins this week.
Kelsay will start on one side with Danny Batten on the other. Coach Chan Gailey plans a rotation, however, with Arthur Moats and Spencer Johnson also seeing plenty of snaps. With Kyle Williams and Shawne Merriman out, the Bills are still a terrific matchup for opposing fantasy players.

Sixth-round pick Danny Batten projects as an outside linebacker in the Bills’ 3-4 scheme.
Batten was a defensive end at South Dakota State. He has good size at 6'3/246, but it remains to be seen how he’ll fare in coverage. The Bills hope he eventually develops into someone who can stand up and rush on passing downs.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Bills OLB Danny Batten will miss 2-6 weeks with a shoulder injury.
“We’re still in the decision making process on the direction for him,” said coach Chan Gailey. “It could be as little as two weeks, it could be as long as six weeks.” Batten injured the shoulder in practice on Monday. Gailey did not mention if surgery might be an option for the rookie.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Bills rookie OLB Danny Batten suffered a “fairly significant injury” to his right arm on Monday morning.
The Bills’ injury woes are happening again. A sixth-round pick, Batten had his right arm in a sling off to the side of Monday night’s practice. The injury could help undrafted rookie Antonio Coleman’s chances of making the team.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Bills signed sixth-round OLB Danny Batten to a four-year, $1.891 million contract.
An athletic defensive end at South Dakota State, Batten (6'3/246) will be converted to edge rusher in the Bills’ 3-4 scheme. If he proves to be solid in coverage, he has a shot to end up as a starter down the road. For now, he’ll contribute on special teams.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Bills placed OLB Danny Batten (shoulder surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.
An athletic defensive end at South Dakota State, Batten was a sixth-round pick in April’s draft. He injured his right shoulder early in camp, however, and was unable to recover quickly. He’ll be back in 2011 to battle for a job.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Bills LB Danny Batten (shoulder) has joined teammates for player-organized workouts this week.
A 2010 sixth-rounder, Batten lost all of last season to shoulder surgery. The Bills asked him to learn inside linebacker while on I.R. last season, but coach Chan Gailey hinted that he could be moving back outside after the drafting of Kelvin Sheppard and Chris White last month. Batten will have to fight for a roster spot in training camp.
  • FA Linebacker #57
Danny Batten is expected to focus primarily on outside linebacker this season.
The Bills drafted two inside linebackers and are desperate for pass rushers off the edge. Considering Batten racked up 17 sacks in his final two years of college, he has a chance to make the team. He spend his entire rookie season on IR due to a shoulder injury.
