Noble was used as the primary blocking tight end with Luke Stocker (undisclosed) injured. At 6-5, 248, Noble profiles as a blocking/catching hybrid but is an extreme project. Details of Stocker’s injury are unknown.

Noble had played just seven offensive snaps as the fourth tight end behind Dallas Clark, Luke Stocker, and Nate Byham this season.

TEs Luke Stocker (hip) and Tom Crabtree (ankle) are listed as questionable on the injury report. Noble caught five passes for 43 yards in the preseason.

It’s a sign Tom Crabtree (ankle) could be back for Week 4. Noble should be stashed back on the practice squad once he clears waivers.

He got beat out by Luke Stocker, Tom Crabtree, Nate Byham, and possibly converted wide receiver Tim Wright.

Noble’s score — which came on play action on a 4th-and-1 on Jacksonville’s opening drive — was his lone catch and target of the afternoon. It was a fluke for a player signed off the practice squad 13 days ago. Noble is miles from fantasy relevance.

Milhim was a reserve guard out of UMass. Noble caught a 62-yard touchdown pass in Week 11 against Arizona last season, but only had one other reception.

Noble gets the nod as D.J. Williams was waived. He’ll slide in as the No. 4 tight end.

Beat writer Stephen Holder is giving the nod to Stocker based on his experience in the offense and his draft position. Tom Crabtree will likely give Stocker his biggest challenge, but the Bucs reportedly internally believe both Danny Noble and Nate Byham have “legitimate upside.” Even if Stocker wins the job, he isn’t a very intriguing fantasy prospect in redraft leagues.
