Titans RB David Cobb is down seven pounds from his rookie year.
Cobb battled weight problems as a rookie following an offseason injury that prevented him from consistently conditioning. A 2015 fifth-round pick, Cobb is squarely on the roster bubble after Tennessee’s additions of DeMarco Murray and Derrick Henry. Cobb is also behind Dexter McCluster and Antonio Andrews. Cobb played in seven games last year, averaging 2.8 yards on 52 carries.

Free agent RB David Cobb worked out for the Chiefs.
It’s Cobb’s second visit after meeting with the Patriots. Kansas City’s interest in Cobb suggests they’re concerned with the health status of Jamaal Charles and Charcandrick West.

The Patriots worked out free agent RB David Cobb on Friday.
Cobb passed through waivers unclaimed and is now an unrestricted free agent. The Patriots may have simply been updating their emergency running back list.

David Cobb rushed six times for 27 yards Saturday against the Panthers.
Cobb lost a fumble on his first carry of the game, but he bounced back with a solid showing. More importantly, he clearly worked ahead of Bishop Sankey and Antonio Andrews as the No. 3 running back. Those three backs are likely competing for one roster spot.

    Titans waived RB David Cobb.
A fifth-round pick in 2015, Cobb flamed out quickly in Tennessee. He didn’t put enough on regular- or preseason tape to earn a serious glance elsewhere.
  • FA Running Back #43
Steelers signed RB David Cobb to their practice squad.
Cobb was a fifth-round pick of the Titans last season, but was among their first round of cuts this preseason. He averaged 2.8 YPC on 52 totes as a rookie.
  • FA Running Back #43
Free agent RB David Cobb worked out for the Jaguars.
He’s also working out for the Colts this week. It’s been a rough year for Cobb. He was let go by Tennessee at the end of training camp and was recently cut from the Steelers’ practice squad. The Jaguars’ running game has fared poorly this year but Cobb isn’t the answer they’re looking for.
  • FA Running Back #43
Bears signed RB David Cobb to their practice squad.
TE Marcel Jensen was cut from the practice squad to make room for him. Cobb was cut from the Steelers’ practice squad a few weeks ago. He’d need an injury to Jordan Howard or Ka’Deem Carey to see the field this year.

Bears signed RB David Cobb, CB De’Vante Bausby, CB Jacoby Glenn, OL Cornelius Edison, WR Dres Anderson, OT William Poehls, CB Rashaad Reynolds and OG Cyril Richardson to reserve/future contracts.
Titans bust Cobb couldn’t crack anyone’s 53-man roster in 2016. He’ll be a long shot next summer.
  • FA Running Back #43
    Bears waived RB David Cobb.
The ex-Titans bust made it four months on the Bears’ offseason roster. Also waived Monday were RB Bralon Addison, WR Dres Anderson, CB DeVante Bausby, CB Jacoby Glenn and TE Justin Perillo.
