The Twins announced that President of Baseball and Business Operations Derek Falvey and the team have mutually agreed to part ways.
It’s safe to say this wasn’t the plan for the Twins, certainly not with the offseason almost over and spring training only a couple of weeks away. Falvey, who had spent nine years with the Twins and became their POBO in 2019, might not have thrilled with the team’s direction after Tom Pohlad replaced his younger brother Joe as the team’s controlling owner in December. The Twins said GM Jeremy Zoll will lead baseball operations and Tom Pohlad will lead business operations while the team searches for a replacement for Falvey.

Phil Miller of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports that the Minnesota Twins are no longer for sale.
The Pohlad family had reportedly been in talks to sell the team, but chairman Joe Pohlad told the Minnesota Star Tribune that the team has taken on minority partners instead and will remain in control of the organization. While the new partners have not been revealed, the Star Tribune reports that “in both cases, they are groups of investors, not a single buyer,” and both groups will have a seat on the board of directors, which gives them input into the decisions impacting the Twins. MLB still needs to approve the new partners, and it remains to be seen what, if anything, this means for the Twins’ operating budget and how they choose to run the team.

The Twins announced that David St. Peter has stepped down as team president, with Derek Falvey becoming president of baseball and business operations and Jeremy Zoll taking over general manager.
St. Peter, who had served as Twins president for 22 years, will stick around as an advisor. The change means that Falvey, who was already POBO, will now head the business side of things, as well. Zoll, who had been an assistant GM, is taking on the role that Thad Levine held before walking away after the season.
