49ers signed Arizona State C Dohnovan West.
West (6’3/309) started immediately after stepping foot on campus and spent three years in the lineup between right guard and center. He’s a surly interior player with dynamite in his hands. He brought those to the pivot, something he hadn’t played before the college level. West is a fluid mover on the field that finds second-level linebackers and blasts them. We saw that athleticism during pre-draft testing when West posted a 70th-percentile relative athletic score including a 10-yard split and broad jump over the 92nd-percentile. West lacks the overall play strength of some of his contemporaries and compensates by staggering into contact, compromising his base.
