    Seahawks released TE Ed Dickson.
The move clears $3 million against the cap. It was a no-brainer for a team that has stockpiled tight ends. Four months shy of his 33rd birthday, Dickson missed all of 2019 with a knee issue after being limited to 10 appearances in 2018. With his age and injury history, Dickson is going to have trouble latching on elsewhere this offseason, especially with visits currently on hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tacoma News Tribune believes TE Ed Dickson is a candidate for release.
Dickson is owed a non-guaranteed $3 million salary coming off a lost 2019. With the Seahawks signing Greg Olsen and bringing back Jacob Hollister and Luke Willson, it’s surprising Dickson hasn’t already been cut. Seattle can also save an additional $10 million from releasing Tedric Thompson ($2.1M) and Justin Britt ($8.75M).

Seahawks placed TE Ed Dickson (knee) on injured reserve.
This was expected after Dickson had a setback with his surgically-repaired knee this week. It ends a lost season for Dickson, who didn’t appear in any games. The Seahawks can save $3.4 million from releasing Dickson this offseason.

Ed Dickson (knee) is expected to go on injured reserve.
Dickson was hoping to debut in Week 12 but instead suffered a setback to his surgically-repaired knee, putting the rest of his season in doubt. Injuries to Dickson and Luke Willson (hamstring) have cemented Jacob Hollister’s status as an every-week TE1. Coming off the Seahawks’ bye, he can be started with confidence Sunday at Philadelphia.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Ed Dickson (knee) will play Week 12.
Dickson was “close” to making a debut on Monday Night Football, but the Seahawks played it safe with a Week 11 bye. Dickson will actually suit up after the off week, and he may have a slightly larger role than expected with TE Luke Willson suffering what Carroll calls a “legit” hamstring injury. It sounds like Willson could be facing a multi-week injury, making Dickson the No. 2 tight end behind the emerging Jacob Hollister.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Ed Dickson (knee) is “ready” for Week 10 against the 49ers.
At long last, Dickson will make his 2019 debut Monday night in San Francisco. He spent the season’s first two months on injured reserve while recovering from an offseason knee scope. The Seahawks suddenly have a lot of foot traffic at tight end with Dickson joining the likes of Luke Willson and Jacob Hollister. Dickson won’t be a streaming consideration in a tough road matchup.

Seahawks TE Ed Dickson (knee) is a game-time decision for Sunday.
Coach Pete Carroll said Dickson is a game-day decision, effectively making him questionable. The Seahawks haven’t activated Dickson from the injured reserve list yet, so he doesn’t have an official designation. Luke Willson has continued to split snaps and targets alike with Jacob Hollister since Will Dissly went down for the season. Neither is a recommended fantasy play even in this cake matchup due to volume concerns as complementary pieces in this offense. Hollister is the preferred dart throw if you’re really feeling crazy, as the former Patriots TE has eight targets over the past two weeks.

Ed Dickson (knee, I.R.) will practice this week and has a chance to play Week 9 against the Bucs.
Dickson has yet to play this season after being sent to I.R. ahead of Week 1. It’s notable since the Seahawks lost Will Dissly to a season-ending injury a couple weeks ago, leaving them with Jacob Hollister and Luke Willson following the trade of Nick Vannett. Dickson would likely slide right in as the starter once healthy if Seattle doesn’t make a trade for a tight end.

Seahawks placed TE Ed Dickson (knee) on injured reserve.
Dickson is eligible to return after eight weeks. His absence elevates the likes of Will Dissly and Nick Vannett, although it remains to be seen how large of a role any of the Seattle pass catchers will have outside of Tyler Lockett. Both Dissly and Vannett are in great spots in Week 1 against a Bengals defense that allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to tight ends in 2018.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Ed Dickson (knee) is “still aways” from returning.
Dickson was given a 4-5 week timetable in early August. He’s not going to be ready for Week 1 and could miss multiple games to open the year. Even when healthy, Dickson will be part of a committee with Will Dissly.
