Colts DT Eric Foster was hospitalized after suffering a broken right fibula in Monday night’s game against the Bucs.
Players from both teams frantically motioned for trainers to come onto the field, and this has the look of a season-ending injury. With DT Fili Moala (ankle) already out and backup DT Drake Nevis having left with a back injury tonight, Bucs RB LeGarrette Blount could be in for a nice second half.

Colts DT Eric Foster has been diagnosed with a dislocated right ankle and will have surgery.
Foster suffered the gruesome injury when he got tangled up at the end of a play with teammate Tyler Brayton and his foot bent the wrong way. He’s almost certainly done for the year. The 0-4 Colts are going to have to look to the street for help on their defensive interior.

Colts DT Eric Foster underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a dislocated right ankle.
He’ll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season after suffering the injury in Monday night’s game. Foster will stay in Tampa until Thursday, flying home on owner Jim Irsay’s private plane. The Colts will be thin up front with Fili Moala (ankle) and Drake Nevis (back) also battling injuries. A free agent in 2012, Foster’s Colts future is up in the air.

    Bears signed DT Eric Foster.
Foster, 28, will take the roster spot vacated by DL Jamaal Anderson. Foster hasn’t played in a game since early 2011 with the Colts when he dislocated his right ankle. He started 18 games and racked up six sacks for the Colts from 2008-11, but will be a long shot to win a spot with the Bears.

Colts second-year DL Eric Foster is focusing on getting sacks this season.
Foster started 11 games last season but had zero sacks. He said he’s spent the offseason looking at sack reels and working on his hands. “I want sacks. That’s all I care about. Sacks,” Foster said. We doubt he’ll get enough to be an IDP option this season, especially considering rookies Fili Maola and Terrance Taylor will be stealing most of Foster’s snaps.

Eric Foster led all Colts interior defensive linemen in pressures last season, with twelve.
He turned 2.5 into sacks. Foster, extremely undersized at 6'2/265, is a useful wave player off the bench, but this is a position the Colts would benefit from upgrading. 2009 second-round pick Fili Moala has done nothing, and 2009 fourth-rounder Terrance Taylor is already almost out of the league.

The Colts will not take any disciplinary action against DT Eric Foster and he will continue to participate in the offseason program, according to a statement they released Wednesday.
Foster was accused of sexual assault, but no criminal charges were filed. The accuser, Lauren Glissen, is still seeking monetary damages through a civil suit. The league office could still address this issue.
