Daily Fantasy Sports [DFS]
I will be giving out selections for one team for each DFS site, per week.
These lineups will be entered into a large-entry Guaranteed Prize Pool. That means we need to take a risk or two, in order to separate ourselves from the field.
The idea is to provide you a list of names to consider. I would not recommend copying these teams, golfer for golfer. Duplicate teams are no fun and don’t help anyone.
FanDuel Picks:
Aaron Wise (9,400): Putter is the only thing that was consistently holding him back over the Spring but he gained with the flat stick at Pebble Beach. A sign of good things to come?
Sung Kang (8,800): He’s better than the field in recent driving distance AND recent driving accuracy. That should help set up a lot of birdie chances this week at a course that looks to be scoreable.
Billy Horschel (10,400): Has gained off-the-tee and on approach in five straight starts. Trending up.
Sungjae Im (10,300): Went through a mini-slump in May but he’s back on track with a top 10 in Canada and a top 25 at the Travelers.
Rory Sabbatini (9,400): Gaining 5.9 strokes tee-to-green per start, over his last five starts. That is nearly four shots better per start when compared to his 20-event baseline. Did we miss the window or can he still strike while the iron is hot?
Hideki Matsuyama (11,300): Ranks 1st in the field in total strokes gained approach over the last year. Poa annua is his best putting surface, historically, when looking at SGP measured rounds.
DraftKings Picks -- @futureoffantasy:
Dustin Johnson (12,000): An easy starting point as the best golfer in the world. The problem? His price is going to force us to play a lot of less-than-reliable names.
Vaughn Taylor (7,600): He’s won at Pebble Beach and in Reno so poa annua greens seem to fit his game. As long as he’s healthy, he’s usually pretty steady.
Dylan Frittelli (7,100): One of the best ball-strikers in the world, he’s still adjusting to the PGA TOUR setups. I think it will click soon.
Rory Sabbatini (8,500): Finally got a chance to rest after a long stretch of non-stop golf in the Spring. He brings four top 20s to the table over his last six starts.
Alex Prugh (7,000): Most of his great results over the course of his career have come on poa annua greens. Just looking for a top 25 here which is what he’s posted in each of his last two starts.
Sung Kang (7,600): He’s a driving machine right now so let’s hope that continues as he takes on a tree-lined track in Detroit.
Yahoo Picks:
Rickie Fowler (47): He’s getting a little overlooked but he’s still one of the three best players in the field this week.
Kevin Streelman (32): The fairways and greens machine is always capable of taking it low, just need the putter to cooperate.
Joaquin Niemann (30): The young Chilean made a switch in the way he practiced putting and the results are showing on the course with positive SGP in two of his last three starts.
Hank Lebioda (20): Gained 3.9 strokes on approach at the Wells Fargo and 4.1 strokes on approach at the RBC Canadian Open. That equals upside, especially for this salary range.
Troy Merritt (27): The Iowa native and Boise State product should be comfortable on these cool-season grasses. Two top 20s in his last five starts.
Hideki Matsuyama (43): Has good results in this region with wins at Firestone and Muirfield Village.
