    Broncos waived QB Garrett Grayson.
The 2015 third-round pick has never attempted a regular season pass. Getting cut at this stage of the offseason bodes poorly for his future “camp arm” odds.
  • FA Quarterback
Broncos signed QB Garrett Grayson to their practice squad.
It is a notable move a day after they cut ties with Chad Kelly. With just Kevin Hogan behind Case Keenum on the active roster, Grayson will likely earn a promotion once he picks up the offense. Grayson was a third-round pick by the Saints in 2015.
  • FA Quarterback
NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the Saints plan to give a long look to No. 3 quarterback Garrett Grayson in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Patriots.
It appears Drew Brees will be joining Tom Brady on the bench, leaving Luke McCown to start and Grayson to clean up the scraps. It’s only noteworthy from a preseason DFS perspective. The No. 75 overall pick of last year’s draft, Grayson will get heavy reps all August.
  • FA Quarterback
    Saints waived QB Garrett Grayson.
Grayson was the 75th pick in last year’s draft and was expected to be groomed as the backup of the future in New Orleans. He was beat out by veteran Luke McCown two years in a row for No. 2 duties. Through two preseasons, Grayson completed 69-of-130 passes for 743 yards and a 2:6 TD:INT ratio.
  • FA Quarterback
Saints signed QB Garrett Grayson to the practice squad.
The No. 75 overall pick of last year’s draft, Grayson went unclaimed on waivers. Grayson will be promoted if something happens to Drew Brees or Luke McCown.
  • FA Quarterback
Saints signed QB Garrett Grayson, OG John Fullington, TE Garrett Griffin, DT Ashaad Mabry, TE Jake Stoneburner, WR Jordan Williams and DT Justin Zimmer to reserve/future contracts.
Grayson spent most of the year on the Saints’ practice squad. The 2015 third-round pick has yet to play an NFL snap.
  • FA Quarterback
    Saints waived QB Garrett Grayson.
A failed 2015 third-round pick out of Colorado State, Grayson never made a move to establish himself as Drew Brees’ long-term backup in New Orleans. The Saints chose Luke McCown over him last year and Chase Daniel this year.
  • FA Quarterback
Saints signed third-round QB Garrett Grayson, second-round OLB B Hau’oli Kikaha, fifth-round OLB Davis Tull, fifth-round NT Tyeler Davison, fifth-round CB Damian Swann and seventh-round RB Marcus Murphy to four-year deals.
The 75th overall pick in the draft, Grayson has an outside shot to emerge as Drew Brees’ eventual replacement in New Orleans. Brees is 36 years old, and he’s owed $20 million in 2016 salary and bonuses. Kikaha should make the biggest 2015 impact in this group. He’ll compete to start opposite Junior Galette.
  • Coaching Staff
Ryan Griffin and Luke McCown are expected to battle for the Saints’ No. 2 quarterback job.
Griffin should be considered the favorite after lighting up the preseason last year to the tune of a 62.3 completion percentage, 6.88 YPA, 3:1 TD-to-INT ratio and 90.3 passer rating. Of course, it probably won’t matter much as Drew Brees has missed just one game since joining the Saints in 2006. Third-round rookie Garrett Grayson is locked in as the developmental third quarterback.
  • FA Quarterback #9
Drew Brees said he’s unfazed by the selection of QB Garrett Grayson in the third round.
Grayson isn’t coming for Brees’ job this year or next, but it’s still been a rough offseason for the veteran’s stock. The Saints traded away Jimmy Graham and Kenny Stills, invested heavily in the defense and run game, and have been talking up a less voluminous pass attack. Then they used a top-75 pick on a quarterback. Brees, now 36 years old, regressed to fantasy’s No. 6 quarterback last season and is a threat to fall even further back to the pack this year. He has weakened weaponry, declining efficiency and we can’t pen him in for his usual 650 attempts.
