McDaniels

The 25-year-old Rule-5 selection passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier in the week and will return to the Dodgers. McDaniels registered a 5.91 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and a 6/8 K/BB ratio over 10 2/3 innings in 10 appearances with the Angels. He’ll add extra bullpen depth for the Dodgers.

McDaniels has been out since early May recovering from biceps tendinitis. The 25-year-old southpaw has posted a serviceable 5.91 ERA across 10 2/3 innings (10 appearances) this season as a Rule 5 pick. There should be some interest on waivers, otherwise he’ll be offered back to the Dodgers.

McDaniels will be out for the required two weeks, but there’s a good chance the southpaw reliever will need more than a fortnight before he’s ready to return. The 2024 Rule 5 pick has a 5.91 ERA and 1.97 WHIP in his limited action with the Angels so far.

McDaniels put up strong numbers out of the bullpen as a 24-year-old with a 3.19 ERA and 84/23 K/BB over 73 1/3 innings. He’ll get a chance to win a spot in the bullpen with the Angels, and if he doesn’t win that job, he’ll have to be offered back to the Dodgers at the end of spring training.
