  • FA Wide Receiver #12

There’s a “wide gap” between the Broncos’ top four receivers and the rest, including Matt Willis.
Andre Caldwell and Brandon Stokley are competing for the third receiver role behind Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker. Willis will have to hold off Gerell Robinson and former Arena Football League star Greg Orton for the final spot.
  • FA Tight End
NFL suspended Cardinals practice squad WR Gerell Robinson four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.
A rocked-up, 6-foot-4, 222-pound undrafted rookie out of Arizona State, Robinson latched on with the Cardinals’ practice squad after failing to make the Broncos out of training camp. Though bigger, he drew some Jason Avant comparisons coming out of college. He’ll be eligible for activation in Week 7.
  • FA Tight End
Broncos signed WR Gerell Robinson and OG Justin Boren to reserve/future contracts.
Robinson spent last summer with the Broncos before landing on the Arizona practice squad for the season. However, he was later suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on PEDs. Robinson goes 6-foot-4 and 222 pounds. Boren is in his second pro season out of Ohio State.
  • FA Tight End
    Broncos signed WR Gerell Robinson.
Now that the season is officially over, these low-level deals are no longer classified on the official transaction wire as “reserve/future” contracts. Robinson has spent time the past couple seasons with the Broncos and will hang around for another summer. The rocked-up receiver is a long shot to make the roster.
  • FA Tight End
Broncos third-year WR Gerell Robinson is now listed as a tight end on the team’s offseason roster.
Signed to a futures contract in January, 24-year-old Robinson is making a position change. He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 220, so the Broncos will likely view him as a possible pass-catching backup to Julius Thomas. Robinson measured 6'3/227 at the 2012 Combine, running 4.54 with a 35 1/2-inch vertical. He’s a long shot, but with an outside chance to become a Tim Wright sort of player.
  • FA Tight End
    Browns signed TE Gerell Robinson.
Robinson was plucked off the Broncos’ practice squad. His addition is a sign the Browns are worried about Jordan Cameron’s (shoulder) Week 2 status. A third-year undrafted free agent, Robinson has never appeared in a regular-season game.
