With his hiatus from the PGA Tour at the halfway point, Sangmoon Bae was spotted back on a golf course this week in his native South Korea.
Bae, 30, has not played competitively since last year’s Presidents Cup, and he has not played on the PGA Tour since a T-18 finish at the 2015 Tour Championship. After deferring his mandatory military service in Korea as his professional career blossomed, Bae began his 21-month stint with the Korean military in November.
While he hasn’t been in the public eye much since then, Bae took time to play a recent round of golf with friend and former Presidents Cup teammate Danny Lee, who shared a photo from their round on Instagram:
Bae has two career PGA Tour wins, most recently at the 2014 Frys.com Open. He is expected to return to the Tour for the 2017-18 season, which he would begin with a one-year hardship exemption since the two-year exemption from his win in Napa will have expired.
