Staying on Bourbon St. for the week, the Golf Guy had no problem with a little ‘quiet time’ at the TPC Louisiana. FYI don’t take a hotel room facing Bourbon St. – the live music starts very early. Very, very early.

You already have famous streets like Bourbon St. and Canal St. Is there really a need to spice things up more with a street name like this? Why not? It lured me in.

Although New Orleans is home to classic dishes such as oysters on the half shell, boiled crawfish, seafood gumbo, jambalaya and other Creole dishes, it’s still nice to go to a golf tournament and smell some good old fashioned hamburgers cooking on the grill.

Is it possible to have a new favorite band without ever hearing a single song from them? Yes, it is. I’m here to announce that ‘Bag of Donuts’ (see Saturday concert) is my new favorite band.

This is no joke. This jazz singer spent several hours in between her sets talking to the Golf Guy. Such an enjoyable time that I thought about resigning from Golf Channel, moving to New Orleans, and becoming the ‘Jazz Guy.’
