Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer believes former Raiders WR Henry Ruggs could be signed by an NFL team in 2026.
Ruggs is eligible for parole in August 2026 after being sentenced to three years in prison for felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter. There’s a chance the NFL commissioner’s office may suspend him again — that’s unclear and the league office said they’d “review” the matter — but Ruggs would only be 27 at that point and could receive a second chance. It would almost undoubtedly be a situation where Ruggs was fighting for a roster spot, but assuming he earns parole, it wouldn’t be surprising if he were signed.

Former Raiders WR Henry Ruggs was sentenced to at least three years in prison for felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
Ruggs crashed his sports car while under the influence and driving at speeds of up to 156 miles per hour. The incident occurred in November of 2021 and tragically took the life of a 23-year-old woman. His sentence is for three to ten years.

On Friday, former Raiders WR Henry Ruggs was charged with possessing a gun under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities found a loaded gun in Ruggs’ car after he killed an innocent 23-year-old woman by driving under the influence on Tuesday. Ruggs is reportedly facing up to 46 years in prison after being charged with DUI resulting in death, DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm, reckless driving, and now this firearms charge. There’s a decent chance he never plays football again, but it goes without saying that that’s not what’s important right now.

The Athletic’s Tashan Reed said Zay Jones “presumably” will replace Henry Ruggs as the Raiders’ “Z” receiver.
Ruggs was waived by Vegas this week while facing a felony charge for driving under the influence in a collision resulting in the death of a 23-year-old woman. Jones, as of today, is one of three wideouts on the Vegas roster. The team is expected to make a depth signing before their Week 9 game against the Giants. Playing 21 percent of the Raiders’ offensive snaps this year, Jones has made a few splash plays -- including a game-winning touchdown in Week 1 -- averaging 19.2 yards on seven receptions. Jones profiles as a boom-or-bust WR4/5 in Week 9 against the Giants.

    Raiders waived WR Henry Ruggs.
Ruggs is facing a felony charge for driving under the influence in a collision resulting in the death of a 23-year-old woman, a Category B offense in the state of Nevada with a minimum of two years in state prison and a maximum of 20 years. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are conducting an ongoing investigation. It’s a stunning downfall for a 22-year-old 18 months removed from being the No. 12 overall pick of the draft. Ruggs has a long and winding legal odyssey of him before he can ever even think about playing football again. There is a strong chance this is the end of his NFL career.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police report Raiders WR Henry Ruggs will be charged with DUI resulting in death after Tuesday morning’s fatal car crash.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the front of Ruggs’ Chevrolet collided with the rear of the departed’s Toyota. The 22-year-old reportedly remained on the scene and showed signs of impairment following the collision, eventually being transported to UMC hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and charged with DUI resulting in death, a Category B felony offense in Nevada with a minimum of two years in state prison and a maximum of 20 years. This is an ongoing investigation that could result in the end of Ruggs’ career.

Henry Ruggs caught all four of his targets for 27 yards in the Raiders’ Week 7 win over the Eagles.
The Eagles entered the week allowing the second-lowest rate of passes that go for 20 or more yards. A defense that is designed to prevent big plays is the perfect counter to Ruggs, who posted his worst fantasy outing of the year this week. Ruggs will look to bounce back versus the Giants after Las Vegas’s Week 8 bye. He only has one game with more than four catches this year and should be viewed as a risky WR3 bet at best.

Henry Ruggs (knee) was upgraded to a full practice on Thurdsay.
Ruggs may not be able to take the top off an Eagles defense that has not allowed a completion of more than 27 yards in the past two games, but this clearance should help him remain valuable as a high-volume target in a good passing game. Ruggs checks in as WR22 on RotoPat’s rankings this week.

Henry Ruggs (knee) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
Bryan Edwards (hamstring) also got in a limited session. The good news is both receivers practiced, suggesting they’re on track to play in an up-pace matchup with the Eagles Sunday. Ruggs has at least 51 yards and/or one touchdown in five straight games as a big-play WR3 for a more aggressive Derek Carr.
