Bengals signed DE Jamaal Anderson, formerly of the Colts.
Joining Derrick Harvey, Anderson is the second former No. 8 pick in the draft to surface with Cincinnati on the same day. Still only 26 years old, Anderson was a rotational left end and defensive tackle in Indy last season, managing just 24 tackles and three sacks in 15 games. Pro Football Focus did grade Anderson as a serviceable run defender, but he’s been a major NFL bust.

Free agent DL Jamaal Anderson will reportedly visit the Bengals.
The Bengals have set their sights low in replacing Frostee Ruster and Jonathan Fanene. Anderson and DT Andre Fluellen, also scheduled to visit, are purely backups.

Bengals placed DE Jamaal Anderson (quadriceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Anderson will undergo surgery later this week to repair the quadriceps muscle torn in Week 2. The former Falcons first-rounder had been playing as a rotational end behind Carlos Dunlap, Michael Johnson and Robert Geathers.

Bengals DE Jamaal Anderson is likely out for the season after tearing his quadriceps muscle in Week 2.
It’s the second season-ending injury for the Bengals in four days. They also lost LB Thomas Howard to an ACL tear sustained during Thursday’s practice. Anderson is a rotational end behind Carlos Dunlap, Michael Johnson and Robert Geathers.

Bengals DE Jamaal Anderson left Sunday’s game against the Browns with a left leg injury.
It looked like a knee injury. Anderson tried to plant and his knee just gave out. He is a reserve defensive end but was seeing plenty of action with Carlos Dunlap out.

Jamaal Anderson has added 15 pounds this offseason and is up to 290 in preparation for playing a swing tackle/end role this year.
“This is the first time that they’ve really taken the step to make me more inside than outside and I feel pretty comfortable,” he said. The former No. 8 overall pick is likely going to lose his starting job to Kroy Biermann. Second-year defensive end Lawrence Sidbury’s reps will also increase.

    Bengals released DE Jamaal Anderson.
The move saves $2.5 million in cap space. The Falcons’ 2007 first-round pick (No. 8 overall), Anderson appeared in only two games last season before tearing his quad. A rotational end the past three seasons after flaming out as a starter, Anderson has played just 918 snaps since 2010. A better run defender than pass rusher, Anderson should be able to latch on somewhere as a camp body, but will be far from a guarantee for a roster spot.

    Bears released DE Jamaal Anderson.
Anderson lasted 24 days with the Bears after being cut by the Bengals in mid-July. The 27-year-old former No. 8 overall pick has just 7.5 career sacks through 77 games, and he may not be fully recovered from the torn quadriceps that ended his 2012 season. Anderson is just a rotational run defender.

Bears signed DE Jamaal Anderson, formerly of the Bengals.
Anderson, the No. 8 overall pick of the Falcons in the 2007 draft, was released by the Bengals two weeks ago. He has just 7.5 career sacks through 77 games. Anderson takes the roster spot vacated by retired DT Sedrick Ellis.

Free agent DE Jamaal Anderson is participating in Saints rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
As is free agent WR/KR Armanti Edwards. Anderson, the eighth overall pick in 2007, was out of the league last season after lasting just 24 days on the Bears’ summer roster. The 28-year-old has 7.5 career sacks in 77 games.
