Free agent G/C Jamey Richard visited the Rams.
Richard has appeared in 48 games for the Colts over the past four seasons, but just nine in 2011. He’d provide depth for a Rams team looking to revamp its offensive line.

Colts LG Seth Olsen was benched in last week’s loss to the Titans.
It’s bad when you can’t stick on arguably the worst offensive line in the league. Olsen was replaced by Jamey Richard, a free agent that the Colts signed four days before the game.

Patriots placed G/C Jamey Richard (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Richard’s history of concussions likely led to the move. He was on the roster bubble as a borderline backup anyway.
  • FA Guard #71
Patriots signed G/C Jamey Richard, formerly of the Colts.
Richard worked out on Thursday along with free agent OTs Brandon Keith and Stephon Heyer. The 2008 seventh-rounder started 11 games in Indianapolis over the past four seasons. He’s purely a backup if he makes the final roster.

Patriots G/C Jamey Richard left Sunday’s training camp practice with a concussion.
He also missed time with a concussion in 2010. On the roster bubble in Foxboro, Richard can’t afford any health issues if he’s going to make the team.
  • MIN Guard #72
Colts claimed G Seth Olsen off waivers from the Vikings and waived G/C Jamey Richard.
Olsen is a power lineman out of Iowa, and the Colts’ interest him further suggests the team is transitioning to more of a running offense. It won’t work. Richard was washed out in the running game in all of his four starts last season.

    Colts re-signed G/C Jamey Richard.
The Colts opted against signing Richard in late July after he underwent offseason surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip. The 27-year-old former seventh-rounder will add depth on the interior with LG Joe Reitz (knee) sidelined.
  • FA Head Coach #63
Colts C Jeff Saturday (leg) could miss the first few weeks of the regular season, according to ESPN’s John Clayton.
The extent of Saturday’s injury is unknown. Clayton says seventh-round pick Jamey Richard could get the nod early in the year. Apparently he’s looked better than higher picks Mike Pollak and Steve Justice in summer work.
  • FA Guard #71
Colts signed seventh-round OL Jamey Richard to a four-year contract.
Coming from Buffalo, Richard is taking a big step up in competition. But he projects as a potential utility lineman who can play guard and tackle.
  • FA Guard #67
Colts RG Mike Pollack (ankle) and G/C Jamey Richard (ankle) have yet to practice this week, and their status for Saturday’s game is in doubt.
Dan Federkeil, who started the first three games of the season, is expected to draw the start. The Colts have struggled to run the ball all season, and this won’t help going up against Chargers defensive tackle Jamal Williams.
