Raiders waived/released RB Jeremy Stewart, RB George Atkinson III, DE Denico Autry, CB Chance Casey, OT Jack Cornell, LB Carlos Fields, LB Bojay Filimoeatu, LB Spencer Hadley, OT Dan Kistler, OT Erie Ladson, DT Ricky Lumpkin, OG Lamar Mady, TE Jake Murphy, WR Seth Roberts, DE Ryan Robinson, S Brandian Ross, OG Jarrod Shaw, K Giorgio Tavecchio and FB Karl Williams.
It’s an uneventful list of players for a team that’s still hurting for depth. Stewart has made 17 appearances over the past two seasons, though 25 of his 27 carries came in 2012.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders coach Dennis Allen confirmed he’ll stick with the same running back rotation he used last week.
Coordinator Greg Knapp also expects Reece to start with Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson sitting out another week. Reece played on 77.3 percent of the snaps against the Ravens, and is likely to be the bell cow once again. He’ll be supported by Jeremy Stewart and Taiwan Jones will be sprinkled in if he has a good week of practice. We can safely project another 10-15 carries and 4-7 catches for Reece. This time, he’ll be facing the Saints’ No. 28 defense.
  • FA Running Back #23
The Raiders did not provide details on Rashad Jennings’ hamstring injury following Sunday’s win over the Chargers.
All we know is that Jennings recorded 10 carries for 41 yards in the first half and was unable to play at all in the second half. With Darren McFadden (hamstring) expected to sit out through the Week 7 bye, it leaves the Raiders very thin at running back. Marcel Reece and Jeremy Stewart may have to carry the mail in Week 6.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders declared RB Jeremy Stewart, DT Richard Seymour, LB Rolando McClain, WR Juron Criner, T Willie Smith, OL Lucas Nix, and DE Dave Tollefson inactive for Week 16 against the Panthers.
Seymour and Criner are injured. Stewart flashed some promise when Darren McFadden was out with injury, but is now a game-day scratch with DMC back healthy.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders declared RB Jeremy Stewart, WR Derek Hagan, LB Rolando McClain, DT Richard Seymour, DE Jack Crawford, OG Lucas Nix, and OT Willie Smith inactive for Week 15 versus the Chiefs.
Now that Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson are both back to full health, Stewart has no offensive role. Goodson and Marcel Reece will split backup duties behind McFadden.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders re-signed exclusive rights free agents RB Jeremy Stewart, C/G Alex Parsons, and DB Brandian Ross.
Undrafted last year out of Stanford, 5-foot-11, 218-pound Stewart held his own with 101 yards on 25 carries across four appearances. He averaged a sturdy 4.0 yards per carry behind Oakland’s putrid run-blocking line, whereas Darren McFadden’s YPC was 3.3. Stewart will battle Rashad Jennings for backup duties.
  • FA Running Back
Raiders re-signed exclusive rights free agents RB Jeremy Stewart, RB Jamize Olawale, OL Matt McCants, LB Kaelin Burnett, and FS Brandian Ross.
With Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings free agents, Stewart is penciled in as the Raiders’ No. 2 running back behind Latavius Murray. He carried the ball just two times last season after toting it 25 times for 101 yards in 2012. Ross played 982 defensive snaps at safety but was torched in coverage.
  • FA Running Back
Jeremy Stewart (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Chiefs.
With Stewart and Darren McFadden sidelined, Marcel Reece will back up Rashad Jennings.
  • Running Back
Latavius Murray is expected to compete for the Raiders’ backup running back job this offseason.
The Raiders surprised everyone by re-signing Darren McFadden and letting Rashad Jennings go. Of course, that could very well end up as a blessing for Murray. McFadden has missed 29 games over the last six seasons and averaged just 3.29 YPC since Hue Jackson left following the 2011 campaign. The talented Murray won’t have a problem beating out Jeremy Stewart and Kory Sheets.
  • FA Running Back
Signed off the practice squad Saturday, Raiders RB Jeremy Stewart rushed seven times for 22 yards in Oakland’s Week 10 loss to Baltimore.
Stewart will be more infamous this week for playing ahead of Week 10 Flavor of the Week pickup Taiwan Jones. An undrafted rookie out of Stanford, Stewart did not embarrass himself as Marcel Reece’s change-of-pace back Sunday and figures to receive a fistful of carries in Week 11 against New Orleans, as well.
