Safety Jon McGraw will begin rotating with starters Erik Coleman and Reggie Tongue.
Tongue has not been playing particularly well. Coleman has been great for a rookie.
  • FA Defensive Back
Lions acquired safety Jon McGraw for a conditional draft pick.
McGraw was entering his fourth season with the Jets. He’s recovering from a knee injury.
  • FA Defensive Back
Jon McGraw is expected to start at strong safety in Sunday’s game against the Lions.
With Eric Berry (knee) out for the year, McGraw and Sabby Piscitelli are prepping for bigger roles. They’ll be tested right out of the gate by Matthew Stafford’s powerful arm and the Lions’ aggressive scheme. McGraw is 32 and was never strong in pass coverage.
  • FA Defensive Back
Chiefs SS John McGraw is active for the Chiefs’ Week 10 game against the Broncos.
He has struggled in coverage, but without him the Dolphins had their way with the Chiefs last week. He’ll be tested in run support against the Broncos’ persistent ground attack. QB Ricky Stanzi, WR Jerheme Urban, TE Anthony Becht, T Steve Maneri, DT Jerrell Powe, DE Brandon Bair, and LB Demorrio Williams are also inactive.
  • FA Defensive Back
Chiefs SS Jon McGraw suffered a shoulder injury in Monday night’s game and did not return.
The severity of the injury isn’t yet known. Donald Washington and/or Sabby Piscitelli would pick up extra snaps if McGraw is out for Week 9. McGraw has been a downgrade in pass coverage from Eric Berry, but he’s held up well in run defense.
  • FA Defensive Back
Chiefs SS John McGraw (shoulder) will not play in Week 11 against the Patriots.
McGraw has never been great in coverage, but losing him in advance of a game against the Patriots is never a good thing. Donald Washington and Sabby Piscitelli will see his snaps, and both are replacement-level talents at best.
  • FA Defensive Back
Chiefs SS John McGraw is expected to face the Broncos after missing one game with a shoulder injury.
McGraw hasn’t exactly been an ace in coverage this season, but the Dolphins had their way with the Chiefs secondary missing him last week. His run support will be tested against Tim Tebow and Willis McGahee on Sunday.
  • FA Defensive Back
Chiefs SS Jon McGraw was forced from Sunday’s game against the Jets with a left ankle injury, and is questionable to return.
He’s been replaced at strong safety by Sabby Piscitelli. If McGraw can’t return, it will be bad news for the Chiefs with the Jets going run heavy this afternoon.
