Undrafted Jaguars QB Jordan Rodgers will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing sports-hernia surgery.
Aaron’s younger brother, Rodgers is competing with fellow undrafted QB Matt Scott for No. 3 duties. This gives the more-talented Scott another leg up in a competition the Jaguars would likely prefer him to win.

Updating a previous item, Jaguars undrafted rookie QB Matt Scott suffered a high-ankle sprain in Friday’s minicamp practice.
Scott sprained the ankle on a play where he threw an interception to second-round SS Johnathan Cyprien. Jaguars OTAs start on May 13, and high-ankle sprains typically take 2-4 weeks to recover from. Scott can’t afford to miss four weeks. Luckily for him, fellow undrafted rookie QB Jordan Rodgers is battling a groin injury. Fourth-round WR Ace Sanders is also dealing with a groin issue.

Jaguars signed Vanderbilt QB Jordan Rodgers.
Aaron’s little brother, Jordan (6-foot-1 1/4, 212) finished his two-year Vandy career with a 55.9 completion rate and 24:15 TD-to-INT ratio after transferring from JUCO. He also rushed for six touchdowns. Rodgers has a long way to go in terms of footwork and decision making -- he’s a project -- but his arm strength, athleticism, and bloodlines are all a plus. The Jaguars didn’t draft any quarterbacks, but they’ve signed two interesting ones in Mike Scott and Rodgers.
  • FA Quarterback #3
Bears worked out free agent QB Jordan Rodgers.
Aaron’s brother was waived by the Jaguars last month. The Bears also worked out Jerrod Johnson, Alex Carder, Jimmy Coy and Clay Belton as they look for a practice-squad quarterback. Rodgers is an undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt.
  • FA Quarterback #3
    Buccaneers waived QB Jordan Rodgers.
New Bucs OC Jeff Tedford coached Rodgers’ brother Aaron at Cal, so this isn’t a good sign for Jordan’s future. A 2013 undrafted free agent out of Vanderbilt, Rodgers has now been cut by the quarterback-needy Jaguars and Bucs.
  • FA Quarterback #3
    Dolphins signed QB Jordan Rodgers.
Rodgers, 25, is best known for being Aaron’s younger brother. The Fins are his third NFL team after Rodgers went undrafted out of Vanderbilt last April; he also had brief stints with the Jaguars and Buccaneers. Rodgers is a camp arm.
  • FA Quarterback #3
Dolphins waived QB Jordan Rodgers and WR Michael Rios.
Aaron’s younger brother, Rodgers is a 2013 undrafted free agent who’s failed to remain on anyone’s roster. He doesn’t have an NFL future.
  • FA Quarterback #3
    Jaguars waived QB Jordan Rodgers.
Rodgers underwent offseason sports hernia surgery and wasn’t going to be a factor in Jacksonville’s starting quarterback battle. He is Aaron’s little brother.
