    Saints released RB Kerwynn Williams.
Williams was signed as a camp body with younger, more talented backs already on the roster. He’ll likely have to settle in for a spot on someone’s practice squad.
  • FA Running Back
    Saints signed RB Kerwynn Williams.
The Saints have been churning the bottom of the running back market all summer. Williams will have next to no shot at cracking the 53-man roster. He’s a camp body.
  • FA Running Back
    Buccaneers waived RB Kerwynn Williams.
Williams spent all of 2018 out of the league and lasted merely one week with the Bucs. He’ll face an uphill battle landing with any other suitor. Tampa Bay also waived TE Isaiah Searight (hamstring), OT Israel Helms, and WR Malik Taylor.
  • FA Running Back
    Bucs signed RB Kerwynn Williams.
It is a reunion for Williams, who played for new Bucs coach Bruce Arians in Arizona. Williams will compete with Shaun Wilson and Andre Ellington for a role behind Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones.
  • FA Running Back
Lions signed RB Kerwynn Williams to a reserve/future contract.
The longtime Cardinal spent 2018 out of the league. A plodder, Williams fits coach Matt Patricia’s style, but he is unlikely to crack the 53-man roster in 2019.
  • FA Running Back
The Colts are expected to use rookie RB Kerwynn Williams on kick returns.
The special teams value gives Williams -- the 230rd overall pick -- an inside track on a roster spot. If the Colts sign Ahmad Bradshaw, either Donald Brown or Delone Carter will be let go. Williams was also a terrific receiver at Utah State and could be a third-down weapon in time if he learns to pass protect.
  • FA Running Back
Colts agreed to terms with No. 230 overall pick RB Kerwynn Williams on a four-year contract.
Williams averaged 6.94 YPC on 218 carries at Utah State as a senior, his first year as a starter. He’s a bit undersized at 5-foot-8 and 195 pounds, but he posted an impressive 4.48 forty at the Combine with a 1.52 ten-yard split. Williams is lightly penciled in as the fourth-string running back in a Colts’ backfield lacking talent, so he could see meaningful snaps as a rookie.
  • FA Running Back
Colts selected Utah State RB Kerwynn Williams with the No. 230 overall pick.
Williams (5-foot-8 1/8, 195) emerged from 2012 draft picks Robert Turbin and Michael Smith’s shadow to rip off 1,512 yards and 15 touchdowns on 218 carries (6.94 YPC) in 2012. He added 45 catches for 697 yards (15.5 YPR) and five more scores. Williams’ versatility is attractive, but he’s more of an undersized straight-line speedster, albeit with absolutely blazing wheels. He ranked fourth among running backs at the Combine in both forty time (4.48) and the ten-yard split (1.52). In a best-case scenario, Williams would be groomed to take a larger role in 2014 when Donald Brown is a free agent.

    Colts waived RB Kerwynn Williams.
The No. 230 pick of April’s draft, Williams was promoted from the practice squad on September 13, but is no longer needed following the acquisition of Trent Richardson. He should land back on the practice squad.
  • FA Running Back
Colts promoted RB/KR Kerwynn Williams from their practice squad.
He’ll be No. 3 on the tailback depth chart, behind Ahmad Bradshaw and Donald Brown with Vick Ballard sent to injured reserve. Though undersized at 5-foot-8, 195, Williams has terrific long speed and receiving ability. He lacks re-draft value, but is worth a roster spot in deep Dynasty leagues.
