49ers signed S Mark LeGree, LS Kyle Nelson, TE Konrad Reuland, C Chase Beeler, OT Derek Hall, DB Cory Nelms, and LB Michael Wilhoite to reserve/futures contracts.
LeGree was a fifth-round pick by Seattle out of Appalachian State. Beeler was Jim Harbaugh’s center at Stanford. Reuland is blocking-challenged tight end. Nelms is not the son of former Redskins return specialist Mike Nelms.

Jets claimed TE Konrad Reuland off waivers from the 49ers.
A pass-catching specialist, Reuland reeled in nine balls for 73 yards during the preseason. His rawness as a blocker made him a causality at final cuts each of the past two years in San Francisco, however. His stay on the Jets’ 53-man roster could be short.

ESPN New York believes the Jets’ signing of Kellen Winslow could jeopardize second-year TE Konrad Reuland’s roster spot.
Reuland, claimed off waivers from the 49ers last September, caught 11 passes for 83 yards while playing close to 400 snaps as a rookie. He’s a catch-first tight end, but can’t block a lick. Winslow’s health will be the deciding factor.

Former Jets and Ravens TE Konrad Reuland died Monday at the age of 29.
Reuland reportedly died from complications stemming from a brain aneurysm he suffered November 28. “We lost a Raven today,” Ravens coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday. “I just want to offer condolences to his family. We love Konrad Reuland. Every single guy in the locker room loves him.” An undrafted free agent out of Stanford, Reuland appeared in 30 games across three seasons for the Jets and Ravens. Our condolences go out to his loved ones.

Jets placed TE Konrad Reuland on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
Reuland’s lone target of the season came in Week 1. He had been playing sporadic snaps on special teams. The 2011 undrafted free agent will be an exclusive rights free agent in the offseason.
  • FA Tight End
Ravens rescinded the exclusive rights tender offer to TE Konrad Reuland.
The move makes him a free agent. A 2011 undrafted free agent, Reuland played 24 offensive snaps last season. Baltimore also waived G Leon Brown.

ESPN New York believes Jets TE Konrad Reuland has solidified his roster spot.
The 2011 undrafted free agent’s roster spot was thought to be in danger after the Jets signed Kellen Winslow, but Reuland has showed well in camp after playing nearly 400 snaps last season. The rebuilding Jets should be keeping talented young players like Reuland, and it appears they will.
  • FA Tight End #84
49ers TE Nate Byham will undergo surgery to repair a torn left ACL suffered in a recent practice.
He’ll placed on injured reserve, ending his season. A 2010 sixth-round pick, Byham caught five passes for 27 yards in 14 games last season. He was ticketed for a blocking tight end and special teams role before the injury. Colin Cloherty and rookie Konrad Reuland will compete for the third tight end job.
  • FA Tight End
    49ers waived TE Konrad Reuland.
Reuland drew Jay Novacek comparisons in training camp for his receiving skills, but he can’t block a lick. The 49ers hope to put him on the practice squad.
