Giants CB Aaron Ross was briefly benched in Monday’s win over the Rams.
Ross was getting picked on by Sam Bradford last night and struggled against the Redskins in Week 1. So coach Tom Coughlin sat Ross down in favor of Michael Coe. It was “just an attempt to find a solution to one of the problems we were having,” Coughlin said. Ross later came back in the game after sulking on the sidelines. The preseason loss of Terrell Thomas (ACL tear) is looming large in the Giants’ secondary.

Giants placed CB Michael Coe (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.
He’ll have surgery on the shoulder this week. Coe joins Terrell Thomas and Justin Tryon as cornerbacks the G-Men have kept on I.R. this season; they already waived Bruce Johnson (Achilles’ tear) with an injury settlement. Coe, 28, was mostly a special teamer this year, recording just 10 tackles on defense.

Giants CB Michael Coe exited Wednesday night’s opener with a third-quarter hamstring injury.
The Giants simply cannot buy a break on cornerback injuries. Coe was filling in for Prince Amukamara, who had been filling in for Terrell Thomas. Look for lots of rookie Jayron Hosley and veteran Justin Tryon in the fourth quarter.

Giants DC Perry Fewell confirmed Sunday that Michael Coe will start at cornerback in Week 1 opposite Corey Webster.
It’s a matchup ripe for the picking for Tony Romo and the Cowboys’ passing attack. In the league since 2007, the journeyman Coe has appeared in 27 games without a single start in his career. The Giants could use Webster to “shadow” Dez Bryant, although Miles Austin is expected to play, as well. If Webster and Coe “play sides,” Bryant will square off with the latter plenty.

    Dolphins signed CB Michael Coe.
Coe sustained a hamstring injury while with the Giants earlier this month and ended up on injured reserve. It turns out the pull wasn’t so bad. The Giants waived him off IR on Monday and the Dolphins have scooped him up as depth two days later.

Giants waived CB Michael Coe from injured reserve.
Coe is now free to sign with any other team. New York placed him on injured reserve earlier this month with a hamstring injury. Coe started one game for the Giants and recorded 13 tackles and four pass break-ups.
  • FA Defensive Back #20
Giants declared CB Michael Coe, WR Hakeem Nicks, RB Ahmad Bradshaw, RT David Diehl, WR Domenik Hixon, TE Adrien Robinson and DL Adewale Ojomo inactive for Week 3 versus the Panthers.
Battling a hamstring injury, Coe will be replaced by Jayron Hosley at right cornerback. Prince Amukamara (ankle) returns as the third corner. Ramses Barden and Rueben Randle are filling in for Nicks and Hixon while Andre Brown starts for Ahmad Bradshaw. Find Week 3 ranks for Brown, Barden and Randle at the link below.

Giants placed CB Michael Coe (hamstring) on season-ending injured reserve.
Coe was added to the injury report this week with the injury. He started one game and finishes with 13 tackles and four pass break-ups. Coe will be a free agent after the season. Safety Will Hill was activated from the reserve/suspended list in a corresponding transaction.

    Dolphins waived CB Michael Coe.
Coe was cut loose to make room for the addition of WR Armon Binns, who was claimed off waivers from the Bengals on Monday. He was signed two weeks ago and appeared in one game for Miami after playing seven with the Giants.
