Falcons released FB Lousaka Polite and signed FB Mike Cox.
Polite beat out Cox in training camp. Now we’re eight games in and the staff is making a switch. Neither lead-blocker can resurrect Michael Turner’s burst.

Giants worked out free agent FBs Mike Cox and Tony Fiammetta this week.
Cox started seven games for the Falcons last season, while Fiammetta spent 2012 on the reserve/left squad list of the Patriots as he dealt with a concussion. Neither player signed. Former LSU FB Chase Clement got the contract.

Falcons signed FB Mike Cox, formerly of the Chiefs.
Cox was in training camp with the Falcons, so he had an edge on the other fullbacks working out in Atlanta Tuesday. He’ll take over for Ovie Mughelli (knee) as Michael Turner’s lead blocker.

Chiefs re-signed exclusive rights free agent FB Mike Cox to a one-year contract.
Cox, 25, originally made the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech in 2008. Since, Cox has appeared in all 32 games, making 15 starts.

Mike Cox has been running ahead of Tim Castille as the Chiefs’ starting fullback.
It’s a close battle to see who will be the Chiefs’ lead blocker this season. Castille is the better ball carrier, but the winner of this battle will hardly ever touch the ball anyway.
