Reds signed infielder Aaron Herr to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Herr, 24, hit .298/.336/.498 in 426 AB for the Cardinals’ Double-A club last season. It was easily his best year since the Braves made him a supplemental first-round pick in 2000, even if he did have a 108/15 K/BB ratio. He may someday get a look as a bench player.
