Rangers purchased the contract of infielder Adam Fox.
The Rangers wanted to designate Rick Bauer for assignment, but they couldn’t do that unless their 40-man roster is full. Adding Fox gave them the full roster. He’ll likely be taken off later, and he’s not someone the club has to be concerned about losing.
