    Adam Kennedy left last night’s game in the fifth inning with what could be a serious right knee injury.
    He left the stadium on crutches and will undergo an MRI today. The Angels are fearful there could be some ligament damage in the knee. Chone Figgins is expected to play second base for the foreseeable future and Dallas McPherson could get some regular playing time at third.

    Kennedy, who is hitting .440 (22-for-50) over the past two weeks, also stole his 14th base last night. He is once again proving to be a valuable fantasy commodity.

    The Angels probably won’t have a good idea until the spring when Kennedy will be ready to play. It’s possible he could miss the first half of the year.

    The original target was a late May/early June return, but Kennedy is on track to begin a rehab assignment sometime in April. ''So far, [the knee] has responded well to the first step, of seeing a ground ball and reacting to it,’' Kennedy said. ''The next two weeks I’ll be a little hesitant, but after that, if I can do a lot of things at 100%, that will erase the doubt.’'

    Adam Kennedy fouled a ball off his right knee in the second inning of Monday’s game and left after the knee swelled in the fifth.
    Kennedy is day-to-day. Manager Mike Scioscia said he would “err on the side of caution” in deciding when the second baseman would return to the lineup.
